IN AND AROUND OLBIA Since ancient days Olbia has been a commercial crossroads. Founded by the Carthaginians
in the 4th century B.C. is was originally called “Terranova.” Today it is one
of the island’s liveliest tows, thanks also to the constant stream of tourists
who arrive here throughout the year. In fact Olbia, with its port and modern
international airport, is the main gateway to the island and in particular to
the Costa Smeralda.
There are endless things to do in the city itself and also in the surrounding
areas: from shopping malls to restaurants, night clubs and discos, to religious
and town festivals, archaeological monuments, museums, walks along the promenade
and the many musical events organised during the summer months.
Anyone who chooses Olbia for their holidays will have a really exciting time,
enjoying the sea, culture and entertainment, relaxation and good food.
